Financial Projections

Economic Research Associates assessed the Museum’s earned income potential, admission pricing, and projected annual operating costs. The figures are based on ERA’s analysis of the Prince William/Manassas area; the D.C.  metropolitan region; and comparable museums, such as the National World War II Museum in New Orleans and the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC.

Revenues

ERA estimates that general admissions, with discounts for seniors, children and groups, will account for nearly 60 percent of the museum’s earned income.

ERA also estimates the Museum’s other sources of earned income: annual dues from an estimated 7,500 museum members, merchandise sales of an average $4 per capita at the museum store, net income from visitor spending at the museum café, and catering and income from rental of the museum. Comparable attractions, like the National World War II Museum, have experienced success in marketing their museum as a venue for community events, reunions, wedding receptions and other activities.
