he Museum has received significant legislative support, funding and in-kind services from partners in the public sector and educational community:
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY has provided significant grants including about 30 acres of public property, valued at $1.5 million, for the Museum’s permanent site.
THE CITY OF MANASSAS has included the Museum in its airport master planning process, which outlines the long-term use and access to airport facilities. This is critical for the Museum’s access to airport runways and taxiways.
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT has provided financial support for Fiscal Year 2006 to advance the Museum’s development.
THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA has given the Museum nearly $1 million in grant funds.
GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY has established a formal partnership with the Museum to enhance educational programs, student opportunities and community partnerships. The Prince William Campus is an integral part of George Mason's distributed university. The 124-acre campus, located at Innovation at Prince William, serves all of Northern Virginia and is located about one mile from the future Museum site.
THE VIRGINIA RAILWAY EXPRESS is in discussions with the Museum regarding shared parking facilities and possibly future rail service relating to Museum activities.
LOCAL GOVERNMENTS have provided significant staff support to assist the Museum in developing its long-term business, funding and legislative plans. |
