Patriots Run in Olathe

U.S. Army officer Chad Weddell says everyone was affected in some way by the events of Sept. 11, 2001.  “It’s so important for us to remember,” he said.

That’s why he and 11 other officers at the Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth will participate Sept. 11 in the Patriots Run in Olathe.

They will join about 150 to 200 runners and walkers at noon in Two Trails Park. This is the seventh year for the run, which commemorates the terrorist attacks.

Participants can either run or walk during the 9-hour-and-11-minute event.
