During the Vietnam War, Edward Gill served his country as a member of the United States Army. Towards the end of basic training, Ed spoke with an instructor and was able to get into radio school, something he knew a lot about as a civilian. He would train to become a 31M20; a Radio, Relay and Carrier Operator. Ed served with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade on a fire support base and then with the 523rd Signal Battalion.
