As a member of the United States Army, Ken LeGrand served his country during the Korean War. After attending ROTC at the University of Nebraska Ken joined the Army in 1953 and completed Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He sent over to Korea as part of the 2nd Division, 36 Field Artillery Battalion and while in Korea, served as a forward observer for the battalion. Ken was in Korea when the war ended and eventually returned home attached to the 5th Army.
