William Adcock Jr., as a member of the United States Army Air Force, served his country during World War II.
William’s dad was in the Navy and stationed on Pearl Harbor in 1941. His father received orders to leave and return to the States, and on December 5th, 1941, William and his family left Honolulu. They were at sea on their way to Los Angeles when the Japanese attacked.
William served from 5 September 1943 to 22 April 1946, first as a Aviation Cadet in the Army Air Corps and later in the Army Air Transport Command. He would later serve with replacement troops in Yunan, China and then with the 73rd Ordinance Company in Calonetta, India.
